Dr. Emily Martin was born and raised in Sarasota, FL. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences from Auburn University, where she met her husband Doug. She then moved to the small Caribbean island of Grenada where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from St. George’s University. She returned to Auburn and completed her clinical training in 2020. After graduating, she moved to Marietta, GA where she spent her first year as a small animal general practitioner. She then decided to pursue a career in emergency medicine, which brought her to AEHM.
Dr. Martin is owned by a West Highland terrier named Brady, a retriever mix named Chessie, and a rough collie named Hazel. The Martin family also includes a cat named Tig, who was adopted while she was living in Grenada. Her hobbies outside of work include fitness, drawing and painting, training Hazel and Chessie in dog agility and competitive obedience, and cheering on the Auburn Tigers (War Eagle!). Dr. Martin’s professional interests include trauma surgery, wound management, and senior care.
