Dr. Toby Rouquette was born and raised in Rockport, TX. His experience growing up on a small ranch nurtured his dream to become a veterinarian. After graduating high school in 1996 he headed to Texas A&M to pursue veterinary medicine where he majored in Animal Science. He was accepted into the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in the spring of 2000 to be a part of the graduating class of 2004. In May of 2004 they both completed veterinary school and moved to Mansfield, TX where Melissa could pursue a job at a 24-hour emergency/critical care facility. Toby had planned on practicing large animal medicine in veterinary school but ended up taking a job at another 24-hour facility in order to have a similar schedule to his wife. He then spent three years as an overnight emergency/critical care doctor in Fort Worth before changing hospitals to practice emergency medicine alongside Melissa. Prior to joining AEHM Toby worked as Chief of Staff at an urgent care facility in Fort Worth. Toby and his wife have built a home outside of Cleburne, TX where they raise registered and commercial Angus cattle. Melissa and Toby have a son named Cullen and share their home with a Border Collie; Aiden and two Heeler mixes;Mia and Hannah. His interests include emergency and critical care medicine as well as soft tissue surgery.
